The world would never be the same and the Norman Conquest continues to be considered as one of the most influential wars in world history. The language of England was vastly changed due to the Norman invaders. After William took the throne, many new French words and roots were introduced into the English language. The language of England was jumbled, and the French influence on the English language can still be seen today. England's culture was completely altered by the Norman's after they conquered England. Many Norman and French traditions and ways were adopted by the English after William took the throne. English culture swept across the world during the time of the British Empire. Many Norman ideas still remained in English culture, thus they were also found around the world as well. The government of England was rearranged after the Norman conquest. After William was crowned, only those who supported him were allowed to remain. He transformed England's government into his own Norman one. England was forever altered.
