The Battle of Hastings
The Battle Hastings was the most decisive battle in the Norman conquest of England. Harold II's English troops met with William the Conqueror's Norman army on Caldbec Hill. It was a hugely important victory for the Normans. Additionally, the English King Harold II was killed in the battle. This paved the way for the Normans, who eventually took control of England. It is estimated that 10,000 men died as a result of this battle. The Battle of Hastings remains as one of the the most important battles in history.
